Trailer to promote cinema season 'The Grime and the Glamour : NYC 1976–1990'. Launched Sept 2017

The Grime and the Glamour : NYC 1976–1990, Barbican’s central autumn Film Season for 2017 (29 Sep - 5 Oct), ran alongside the Art Gallery exhibition Basquiat: Boom for Real.
The season had eleven events, and was about the downtown scene in late 1970s and the decade of the 1980s in New York – the time period when Jean-Michel Basquiat was living and working in the city.
The objective was to create a mixed-media montage to convey the time and atmosphere in NYC, to look cool and appealing. The chosen aesthetic was low-res, scuzzy, fuzzy and not the typical cliché of 1980s slick yuppies or 1970s flower power.
